Does not understanding raise her voice?

When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger.

    Ephesians 4:29 (NCV)

Before you speak, ask:  Will what I’m about to say help others become stronger?

You have the ability, with your words, to make a person stronger.  Your words are to their soul what a vitamin is to their body.  If you had food and saw someone starving, would you not share it?  If you had water and saw someone dying of thirst, would you not give it?  Of course you would.  Then won’t you do the same for their hearts?  Your words are food and water!

Do not withhold encouragement from the discouraged.

Do not keep affirmation from the beaten down!

Speak words that make people stronger.  Believe in them as God has believed in you.

So a horseman went out to meet Jehu and said, “The king wants to know if you are coming in peace.”  Jehu replied, “What do you know about peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman called out to the king, “The messenger has met them, but he’s not returning.” So the king sent out a second horseman. He rode up to them and said, “The king wants to know if you come in peace.” Again Jehu answered, “What do you know about peace? Fall in behind me!”

The riders met Jehu and asked if he came in peace. But Jehu responded, " What do you know about peace?".

Peace, properly understood, comes from God. It is not genuine except when rooted in belief in God and love for Him.

Jehu knew the men represented a disobedient, wicked king.

Don't seek peace and friendship with those who are enemies of the Good and the True.

Lasting peace can come only from knowing God who gives it to us.

Thank You Lord for giving us the gift of Your peace.

May we spread Your love and precious peace to those around us.

And help us to separate ourselves from those who represent disobedience.

We need to love those around us and pray for them, but we do not need to befriend those who's intentions are against You.

Thank You Jesus for Your Word to us. May we walk in It's Truth! In Your Name, Amen...

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
    (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Notice that this scripture instructs us to give thanks in all things, not for all things. When tragedy or temptation strikes, we are not to thank God for them. He is not their author. He's the One who provides our way of escape from them. And that's what we're to thank Him for.

If you read the four Gospels, you'll find that Jesus never gave thanks for sickness or death. Instead, when He encountered them, His response was to overcome them by God's power. So give thanks as Jesus gave thanks--not for Satan's activities but for the victory God has given you over them.
